The Royal Family
Close relatives of the monarch of the United Kingdom are known as The Royal Family. Although there is no strict legal or formal definition of who is or is not a member of the Royal Family, close relatives of His or Her Majesty (HM) or His or Her Royal Highness (HRH) are generally considered members.
Members of the Royal Family usually include:
- the monarch & their spouse;
- widows/widowers of previous monarchs (the Queen Mother);
- children/grandchildren of the monarch;
- and spouses of a monarch's son/grandson.
The current British Royal Family are members of the House of Windsor. More information about them can be found at http://www.Royal.gov.uk/.
